What OnlyCars is
We let sellers post cars and let buyers find them, message sellers and arrange test drives. Everything about the sale itself, including price, payment, paperwork, title transfer and handover, is agreed directly between the buyer and the seller.
Who can use it
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. One person, one account. Dealers must use a dealer account and hold any license their state requires (in North Carolina, a dealer license from the NCDMV).
What you can list
Listings must be for passenger cars, trucks, SUVs and vans, new or used, that you have the right to sell. Salvage and flood titles (see OnlySalvage), parts, leases, rentals and "wanted" posts are not allowed.
Your account
Keep your sign-in secure. Passkeys are recommended. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us right away at Contact if you think someone else has access.
Dealing with other people
Buyers and sellers deal with each other directly and at their own risk. We do not inspect cars, verify every claim in a listing or guarantee that a sale will happen.
- Meet in a public place in daylight, ideally a police-station safe-trade spot.
- Never pay by wire transfer, gift card, crypto or a payment app to someone you have not met. OnlyCars will never ask you to pay a seller through us.
- Check the title and the VIN on the car match before any money changes hands.
What is not allowed
- False or misleading listings, including hidden title brands, rolled-back odometers or stock photos.
- Scams, phishing, or asking people to move off OnlyCars to avoid our safety tools.
- Harassment, discrimination, or spam.
- Scraping or reselling OnlyCars data without written permission.
Fees
OnlyCars is free to use. There are no listing fees and no commissions for private sellers or dealers, and buyers never pay us anything.
Ending your account
You can delete your account in Settings at any time. We may remove listings or suspend accounts that break these terms, and we will tell you why unless doing so would put someone at risk.
Liability
OnlyCars is provided "as is." To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any vehicle, transaction, or loss arising from dealings between users. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection law.
Disputes and law
These terms are governed by the laws of North Carolina. Before filing a claim, contact us so we can try to resolve it informally within 30 days.
